Well I know it’s hard to believe but I testified before Carl Perkins in a hearing of the House, Education and Labor Committee in 1992. Yup, that was over 32 years ago.
Unfortunately, the issues that existed back then still exist today. The difference is that I have solutions now that I didn’t have back then. I’ve helped hundreds of schools move the needle on Women in Career Technical Education in my almost 40-year career in this field. And I’ve helped employers develop an equitable workplace with fair hiring practices.
Recently I’ve been doing very successful training with Industry Advisory Councils and Job Placement Staff to make sure the women who have been enrolled in their nontraditional programs do not have to struggle to get hired.
